This week we will be making Flapjack Bars in cookery.
Our flapjack bars are packed full of oats, which are a great source of fibre and and can even help to lower cholesterol!
Oats are great to include in your diet as they provide an nutritious long lasting source of energy.

 

Using combination of muscovado sugar and honey will also give our flapjacks a strong rich flavour without needing quite as much as table sugar.

 

The children will be practising their maths as well this week as there 6 different ingredients which will all needs to be weighed or measured in different ways including, grams, millilitres and spoonfuls.

 

We will also be spending time learning how sultanas/raisins are made, and thinking about some of the ways they are different to grapes.
